Tracie Padal MLIS ’09 Wins Chicago Poetry Award

Tracie Padal MLIS ’09 is the winner of the 2018 Grand Prize for Poetry from the TallGrass Writers Guild, a Chicago-based independent arts organization. Her prose poem, "Galaxy," was selected as the top entry in "The Stars" anthology, a literary collection published by Outrider Press. This is the third time she has won the Grand Prize in Poetry from the TallGrass Writers Guild.

Tracie is a youth librarian at the Palatine Public Library District and has shared her passion for poetry with the community by coordinating the library’s annual poetry contest and Poetry Month events for the past 10 years.

She holds a master’s degree in library science from Dominican University. Her poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and published in magazines, anthologies and literary and online journals.
