Dr. Susan Roman MALS ’76 receives prestigious ALA Award

Dr. Susan Roman MALS ’76, Dean Emerita of Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Dominican University, is the recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) 2018 Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship.

The award is reflective of Susan's accomplishments and service to the profession. Her career spanned the breadth of the library profession including time spent in public libraries.

Susan's previous titles include the Executive Director of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), the Executive Director of the American Library Trustee Association (ALTA, now part of United for Libraries), Director of Development for ALA, and as Dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Dominican University.
